Yeezy trainers might be going through somewhat of a renaissance in 2020 with some brand-new models like the 700 MNVN and a venture into the world of performance basketball footwear with the QNTM finally set for release. But one of the staples of the Yeezy brand, the 350 hasn’t been put on the backburner in the meantime.
The new look follows in the footsteps of the “Earth” and “Flax” colourways with regional releases only. This time dropping across Europe and in Russia where fans will have to venture out to stores once again to secure their own pair of Yeezy adidas trainers. Raffles will be available online so keep your ear to the ground for when they go live.
The “Tail Light” colourways follows the usual Yeezy 350 V2 trend of muted colours with a special feature. The reversing lights on your Ford Focus might not inspire many of us in the wardrobe department but Kanye West is no mere designer; with a history of sampling sounds from unusual places, it makes sense that his footwear will find inspiration from the unordinary. And who knew a taillight could produce an understated and effective design scheme for a piece of streetwear?
The grey Primeknit takes inspiration from the “Trueform” and “Beluga” looks with a signature stripe creating the notable feature around the foot. This time it is a streak of bold orange which continues to develop into the heel tab. Classic adidas Boost cushioning is wrapped with translucent sole to add another layer of contrast; one that is delicate and well-balanced. Laces are colour matched to the Primeknit upper to produce footwear that is going to be one of the most versatile drops in 2020 that will be an essential part of everyone’s rotation.
February 22 is the set date for release across Europe and Russia at select adidas stores and via select online trainers raffles. The new “Tail Light” colourway will be dropping for around £180.
