The basketball/hiking shoe mashup is one of Yeezys most Yeezy looking pieces of footwear available and 2020 is nearly ready for the first new colourway of the year in the “Tyrian”.
The 500 is one of the rarest silhouttes from the Yeezy collection. Unlike the 350, which drops almost on a weekly basis, the 500 had a debut release at the end of 2019 in the form of the “Slate” and has had nothing since. The “Slate” had a crisp Black and Navy Blue upper that combined suede and neoprene materials that sat atop that chunky, bubbled cream sole.
For the “Tyrian”, Ye and adidas are getting more adventurous and slightly braver with the colour scheme now that fans are getting used to the design, with a brown cow suede upper with blue neoprene panels and black leather accents. The cream sole has been switched out for a black one to give a more overall darker look.
As well as looking great these are also a very comfortable pair of footwear; the collar has extra padding for a very snug fit and provides added support for both the basketball scene and the hiking scene. The bungee laces help lock everything down whilst also making sure they are easily slipped on and off – perfect for everyday wear.
The midsole has added rubber for further support, grip and abrasion resistance and adiPRENE+ cushioning improves both impact absorption and rebound.
The Yeezy 500 is a mash up of plenty of colours and materials, creating one of Yeezy’s boldest looks. When brands get adventurous like this it tends to divide fans. But this is Yeezy we’re talking about: if it isn’t pushing boundaries, that is more shocking for fans.
The new look drops on May 16 for $220 (£178.78). Head over to Laced’s online trainers portal after that day for buy and sell options on the resale market.
