When it comes to colourway options, Nike have really spoilt us for choice with their sheer range of designs for the React Element 87. We aren’t just talking about single colourways either; all-white or blackout colourways are out the window. We’re now struggling more than ever to decide on one pair when we are so enamoured with the multi toned, experimental looks that Nike have chosen to go for.
With so many unique colourways out there, we’ve tried to narrow down the list by selecting a few of our favourites. No small feat in way – how do you choose favourites amongst such a quality collection of footwear? Well, we’ve done our best and have gone for a selection of colourways that jump out at us from the crowd:
Desert Sand
There’s so much going on with the Desert Sand colourway, and we love every part of it. From the beige upper, knitted together with neon green beneath the laces to the low rider swoosh and vibrant heel tab, this is definitely a must have trainer. The mix of leather and suede and treck style lacing works the functional side but blends perfectly with the colours; browns, tans, beige, even dashes of purple creeping through all adds to the aesthetic.
Orange Peel
This colourway was the must have summer colourway for a reason. A design for the future using a colour palette from the past has resulted in this almost perfect design for those who prefer a vibrant colour scheme and may even be the catalyst to convert those who tend to stick with the tried and tested single colour trainers.
A semi-translucent orange upper may not sound like everyone’s idea of a good look, but pair that with bold green accessories, yellow swoosh, teal and purple subtleties and pale ivory finish to the edges and you’ve got a truly unique colourway that is going to have major appeal.
Wolf Grey/ Teal
The grey base for this colourway is the level design for a near perfect arcade retro aesthetic which will satisfy every retro freaks cravings for everything 80s. Teal features stand out perfectly against the wolf grey upper; throw in pink and yellow features as well as a baby blue soleplate, set it all against a black, felt- like tongue and you’re on to a winner.
