The “Chicago” colourway, made famous on top of the AJ1 high top is now one of the most recognisable colourways of all time from Nike. Rarity is key to keeping the look so sought after, so Nike only turn to use the red white and black colourscheme sparingly.
This time it is Nike skateboarding that have been given the nod to use the famous colourway for its new SB Dunk Low. Which makes sense, considering the success the Dunk Low has had already in 2020. The Plum, Chunky Dunky, and Strangelove collab have all been some of the biggest releases this year.
This colourway helps continue the J-Pack series, a collection of dunks with star quality. Straight off the back of the Pine Green/Black colourway, the “Chicago” utilises a clean white leather base, visible on the side panel and toebox through coverings of red leather across the forefoot and black leather detailing on the Swoosh and around the ankle. The lacing system is also blacked out and the midsole is presented in a white colouring with a red outsole to complete the iconic Chicago Bulls looks.
There is further Nike branding on the tongue which is fully white with a red ‘Nike SB’ tag sitting on top. The look is fairly minimalist, especially for a Dunk line that is getting extremely experimental at the moment.
This new look from Nike Skateboarding will be dropping early in Korea, sometime around the 21st August. After that there will be a more worldwide release where it will drop on the Nike SNKRS app as well as in selected retailers.
Stay tuned with Laced for more information on when that worldwide release date occurs. The price tag is expected to be around $100 (£80) so is definitely a look that people will easily be able to add to their rotation during a season of highly priced sneakers.
