The Air Max 1 was once one of the most seen pieces of footwear from Nike; no kid would set foot outside without repping a pair of Air Max 1s.
The silhouette has seen so many collaborations in recent months; with the likes of the “Amsterdam”, “London” and the Denham reimagining to name just a few. So it only makes sense that sooner or later Nike were going to turn back to some classic colourways for fans to celebrate the “Anniversary” series that includes classic green and orange colourways atop a white based shoe.
Since the Air Max 95 and Air Max 90’s Anniversary celebrations got such fan fair, we expect the same thing to happen for this iconic retro looking sneaker that has rarely fallen out of favour.
“Evergreen”
The Air Max 1 look has changed very little over the years. The new “Evergreen” colouring is displayed on the mudguards, Swoosh branding, tongue logo, eyestays as well as sections of the outsole. The mesh layer over the toe and the rest of the tongue is kept in a clean white and the remaining panels are leather in an off white, greyish hue.
“Magma Orange”
The “Magma Orange” colourway follows similar colouring objectives as the “Evergreen” only this time in an eye-catching, citrusy orange. The summer colouring reappears on the Swoosh, mudguards, eyetsays, tongue logo and outsole, which, when paired with the white mesh and grey leather creates a vibrant and crisp aesthetic. The soleplate differs slightly on the “Magma Orange” as it incorporates black for the majority of the soleplate with orange just used underneath the toebox.
Both looks will be dropping on July 30th at selected retailers and online. Check in with Laced’s online trainers’ platform after release day for buying and selling options.
