The Varsity Red and Black recreation of the OG Air Jordan 1 Hi 85 came and went in a flash. Selling out in a matter of minutes as old school MJ fans and the new breed of sneaker fanatics snapped up the kicks. Now it’s the turn of the “Pine Green”, the bold green and black colourway, to have its time on the court.

Nike are really pushing the OG looks by turning to the classic Air Jordan 1 styles that started the ball rolling for a Nike and Michael Jordan collaboration that has seen literally thousands of releases across four different decades. From a generational talent to a generational piece of footwear, the dark colour scheme of the “Pine Green” and black is sure to be another fan favourite.

We’ve seen a few rarer additions to the Nike Air Jordan 1 collection with the release of the Air Jordan Milan and Paris iterations recently. But the 85 in their original forms are the absolute sneaker staple, and one fans will never tire of seeing. Original pairs of 85 Air Jordan’s are gold dust in today’s market, so Nike are making sure that the newer generations of sneaker fiends can add them to their collection by recreating the classic looks.

The “Pine Green” is built upon a premium, tumbled black leather base with the pine green accents layered over the top in the form of the swoosh, toebox, ankle flaps and heel panel. The iconic black wings logo is back again on the ankle flap and a nice tease of red is included on the marked Nike Air tongue tabs.

Black laces are included, and a clean, white midsole helps break up the dark colourway with a splash of light which is completed with green rubber outsole.

The new Nike Air Jordan 1 “Pine Green” drops on February 29 at retailers and on the Nike app and priced at £134.95, let us know whether you get your hands on a pair. If you miss out, check out Laced’s online trainers’ platform to get the best prices on the resale market.
