New Balance are crowbarring their way amongst the sneaker elite with some of their latest releases. The Americans recently teamed up with designer Aime Leon Dore to reinvent their iconic 90’s running 827 Abzorb look.
The Queens’, NY, designers was a successful collaboration for NB. And if there’s anything we’ve learnt from big design collabs is that they really work for the fans – especially those who love a throwback.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 827 Abzorb colourways took the OG 827 from way back in the 90s and gave it a revamp and a more modern feel. After the success of the release, and with hype heating up, they are now going to drop the 827 Abzorb in its original form.
The chunky dad aesthetic and running classic looks have been brought back into the mainstream once again towards the end of 2019 and into 2020. New Balance is jumping hard on the hype train with the return of their classic looks that may find a second life with the retro fans.
The 827 Abzorb is everything fans want in a retro 90’s running trainer right now – visually and structurally. The mixed mesh and leather base layers are kept in a clean white. From there, New Balance build up the colours. For the first, a blue and orange colourway interspersed amongst the lace loops, midsoles and underlays as well as the “N” logo, heel and pull tab. The second colourway is a red and black addition to the majority white base.
The mesh base keeps these trainers light, making them perfect for functional running and the leather overlay and colourway options mean they will also fit in perfectly with everyone’s daily rotation.
Official release date for the New Balance 827 Abzorb is April 2nd for $145 (£121). Head to Laced’s online trainers platform to buy and sell your New Balance’s quickly and easily.
