Whilst the world is having a pretty diabolical 2020, New Balance is well on their way to having one of their most standout years. After the recent success of the Casablanca collaboration debuting the 327 silhouettes, the new design has become a huge favourite of the New Balance roster and is soon to see three brand new colourways in a ‘70s NB style.
The big name collaboration with Casablanca is a trick we see with a lot of new designs: roll out the big guns with the big names before dropping the general release colourways.
The three new looks stick to the same design as the Casblanca, with a two-tone colour scheme split down the middle. For the first look the New England sportswear company have gone for a vibrant blue and orange. With the colour scheme split half and half, we are left with a warm medial and a chilled lateral in mixed materials of suede and nylon.
Bold yellow “N” branding sits on the lateral side and minimal white “New Balance” branding sits just above the heel on the inside of the shoe. All of this is constructed on top of a yellow midsole with a black rugged terrain outsole that reaches up the front of the toe and high on the heel.
To compliment the vibrant colour scheme New Balance have also introduced a more muted black, white and grey look. This time the black-dyed suede does the talking whilst the nylon base has a brighter grey colouring to help the darker hues rally stand out. The “N” branding is a crisp white, as well as the tongue and lace system, so too is the midsole, which is surrounded by a light grey outsole.
Completing the collection is an all grey look that trades out the black suede panels for a cream/grey colouring but keeps the white fetaures on the lacing, tongue and “N” branding. The outsole is blacked out and surrounds a grey midsole this time around.
These New Balance 327s drop on May 9 in Men’s and Women’s sizes across Asia. Fans elsewhere will have to head over to Laced’s online trainers platform after the 9th for resale options.
