It’s been around four months since it was rumoured that a new Yeezy Boost 700 V2 was in the works and it’s got to be said that many sneakerheads were in denial about this eventuality. Now here we are in August with official imagery at hand in order to confirm what we’ve all been expecting for quite some time as the “Mauve” colourway prepares to make its daring introduction into the sneaker world.
The colourway is strikingly similar to the “Geode” colourway that was released back in 2019, however this second edition stays true to the Yeezy colour palette and chooses to focus on earthy tones. This is a move that we’ve come to expect from Ye and his team so the sombre design comes as no surprise and actually works remarkably well for the silhouette.
A breathable mesh base can be found below in a muddy shade of brown with 3M stripes that shoot across the lateral and medial side panels for an effect that is almost ombre in nature and manages to draw attention to every aspect of the sneakers. The colourway uses dark grey leather panels on the upper which wrap around the kicks for a contrasted look that is reminiscent of the “Tephra” colourway, and an Adidas Boost midsole featured down below is the only ‘bulky’ part of the design.
If you weren’t lucky enough to add the OG to your collection when it was released three years ago then the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Mauve” may be the perfect substitute you’ve been waiting for. Whilst this isn’t a final design and there’s still a chance that Adidas may make some alterations to the colourway, we can’t imagine there’ll be any drastic changes to contend with. As expected, there isn’t a confirmed release date to work with for this upcoming silhouette so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled to stand any chance of beating the crowds on release day.
