Excitement among sneakerheads is building as one of the year’s most anticipated releases – the Yeezy Boost 380 “Pepper” – is finally set to drop in the next couple of weeks.

The latest iteration of the 380 silhouette has been a hot topic for fans of the Yeezy collections this year, with talk about the shoe’s futuristic design generating a tonne of momentum online. And as we get ready to wave goodbye to another summer, Kanye and adidas will drop their latest rendition of the popular collection just in time for the autumn/winter 2020 season.

As we’re all aware, Ye has never been afraid of tapping into his creative muse to come up with something unique, and the Yeezy Boost 380 “Pepper” is certainly no exception. Featuring a grey and blue Primeknit upper and perforations to the midfoot, the shoe is a head-turner to say the least.

We were first introduced to the Yeezy Boost 380 silhouette back in December last year, and ever since the initial “Alien” colourway landed, Yeezy aficionados have been clamouring for more iterations of the unorthodox design.

Using a never-before-seen pattern on the Primeknit upper, an upgraded, weightier Boost midsole and a thicker, more robust outsole, the 380 was initially intended to be the 350 v3. However, after manufacture was complete, it was decided the silhouette should receive its very own name instead – probably just as well with the two being so vastly different in terms of both design and features. As well as having a heel that’s much more angled, the 380 also lacks the traditional lateral side stripe seen on the 350.

In what’s set to be a busy month for Ye, this latest 380 joins Yeezy’s roster of eye-catching September releases which already includes an update to the 350 v2 collection in the form of the “Asriel”, as well as the Yeezy Quantum “Ophanim”. Both will land at the end of the month.

The “Pepper” will also accompany the already announced 380 “LMNTE”, one of West’s most brash colourways to date that’s set to drop in December.

The Yeezy Boost 380 “Pepper” will be released at select retailers and adidas.com and will come in both reflective and non-reflective iterations. The former will drop on the 18th September, with the latter coming a day later.
