Brown has rarely been a luxury trainer colour in the past, but now, thanks to the likes of Travis Scott, brown hues are becoming growingly popular in a number of colourways for a number of different trainer designers.
We’ve seen it used to great effect in a number of Nike’s silhouettes as well as YEEZY looks and other adidas designs and even some great New Balance looks.
Earthy tones are creeping into Nike colourways more and more and with the Air Jordan 1 receiving every possible colour scheme under the sun at this point, its nice that they’re branching out with some more natural hues rather than the more vibrant university reds and strong oranges and blues we come to expect.
The “Dark Mocha” colourway doesn’t go overboard with brown, however. The colourway starts off with a cream leather base with the brown, almost coffee coloured heel gives us a splash of the earthy tone. This brown panel reaches around the ankle flap and is also host to the Wings branding logo which is in back to offset the colouring.
Black panels are featured across the forefoot as well as inside the sockliner and Swoosh branding. The outsole is also given a black covering that finishes the cream white midsole.
The release of the new Air Jordan 1 “Dark Mocha” is expected to drop in November time, so there is yet a way to go before we can get a more solid release date. We have been treated to a very in-depth look at the new design, however, with plenty of leaked, quality images to help tide us over in the meantime.
Keep checking in with Laced’s online trainers platform for more information on release dates for these Air Jordan’s and many more as we get through this crazy year.
