You’ll be forgiven for not knowing what a Limonite is, but you are soon to be fully aware of the colouring of the Limonite iron ore as it becomes the inspiration for the new YEEZY Boost 380 colourway.
A combination of the “Blue Oat” and the “Azure” colour schemes from earlier in 2020 also help create this new earth-toned trainer as YEEZY and adidas attempt to diversify their collection of the new 380 silhouette.
For the new “LMNTE” colourway, the look starts off with a dark brown Primeknit upper which is broken up with interspersing grey detailing. The ankle collar is given a lighter brown tone to help create that heavier sockliner aesthetic and further contrast can be found via the lateral and medial panels which are in an electric yellow colour. Where the Boost 350 V2 looks to opt for a more solid, symmetrical side stripe, the 380 has a more abstract striping which works better with the more abstract shaping of the entire shoe.
The brown lacing system works its way through the vibrant yellow side stripe as well as the earthy brown upper for a more streamlined aesthetic. The Primeknit also provides unparalleled breathability and comfort when joined with the khaki boost midsole. The look is finished with a bright orange gum rubber outsole which adds to the electrifying colour scheme that is going to guarantee this release is going to catch the attention of YEEZY fans, for better or for worse.
The new YEEZY Boost 380 “LMNTE” looks set for an autumn release, so make sure you keep checking back in with us for a full release date closer to the end of summer.
This looks set to be a colourway that will no doubt separate fans of YEEZY trainers. Those who prefer the more earthy colourings and those that like the more vibrant colourways will both have something to admire in this look; whether the two will fit together is yet to be seen when we get to see live shots of the trainers in action.
