We all know the link between Michael Jordan and Buggs Bunny. For most sneaker fans right now, their childhoods involved the biggest game in basketball, outside of the NBA – the Looney Tunes v Monstars.
But before Space Jam ever happened, MJ and Buggs had already collaborated with the Air Jordan 7 “Hare”. This look dropped in 1991 with the nickname Hare Jordan’s, which made it into the mainstream via the TV advertising where Buggs Bunny pulled on a pair of the classic White/ True Red/ Light Silver for what is now almost the epitome if a 90’s look.
Now, here in 2020, we have the “Hare 2.0” and Nike have chosen to go brave on the look with the inclusion of faux fur. The colourway is based around the “Neutral Grey” theme and has premium leather alongside the faux fur, to represent Buggs Bunny, with contrasting pink features throughout to add splashes of colour.
As a nod to the OG 1991 colourway the new “Hare 2.0” features the SKU number “130014-100” along the heel side whilst the heel itself features a red, green and purple branded heel logo which matches the OG mix-and-match soleplate of the 91 look.
Here at laces we expect this drop to be popular, it’s a bold statement but the link with everyone’s favourite cartoon bunny and the succession from the hugely popular 90’s look, this is a shoe that is going to get snapped up on release.
The new Nike Air Jordan 7 “Hare 2.0” drops on April 8 and can be found at Nike.com or via the Nike SNKRS app. Pairs will be releasing in adult sizes for $250 (£209.95).
