There are plenty of kicks set for release in February that are getting fans excited. From new model YEEZYs to Superbowl Inspired Air Jordan 10s, there is something for everyone this Spring.
One release that is picking up some momentum more than the rest is a remake of an absolute game changing piece of footwear – the Air Jordan 1 Hi 85 in Varsity Red and Black.
Nike have come full circle from the dawn of Jordan footwear. The Air Jordan 1 was the start of it all. Since that day, there have been literally thousands of different Air Jordan designs that have been worn on feet in every corner of the globe.
On and off the court, the Air Jordan has been a staple basketball performance shoe and pristine piece of essential fashion that has crept into almost every industry from skateboarding to music. This newly revived 1985 look is a clean and modern take on that 80’s classic and is being touted as one of the most accurate re-creations of one of the most famous Air Jordan silhouettes since the OG.
Lifting the Ban
The famous “Banned” red and black Chicago-esque colour scheme returns to honour Michael Jordan’s time at Chicago Bulls and his prime years in the game. Black is the underlining colour across the crisp and sturdy leather construction with “Varsity Red” features across the eye stays, toe caps, swooshes, ankle flaps and heel wrap.
The release ties in nicely with the NBA All-Star Weekend’s “New Beginnings” pack. Just 23,000 pairs will be dropping on the 8th February with a price tag of $200 (£154).
You can get your hands on a pair using the Nike SNKRS app from 8am GMT, or you can enter the raffle beforehand to secure yourself a guaranteed pair in your size.
