It can be hard to keep up with the slew of top-quality releases coming from the minds of Kanye West and adidas. YEEZYs have been landing thick and fast over the past few months, but with Christmas just around the corner, we thought now would be a pretty apt time to pull together our Top 5 YEEZY releases this season. So, if you’re struggling for gifting inspiration keep on reading and we’ll break down a few of our favourite pairs.
5. YEEZY 500 ‘Stone’
Dropping in at number 5, we’ve gone for the sandy-coloured YEEZY 500 ‘Stone’.
Continuing Kanye’s love for natural tones, the all-new colourway isn’t the only revamp on this 500; the silhouette also boasts a structural overhaul too. Taking a step away from the model’s usual mesh base, this ‘Stone’ rendition opts for a comfortable Lycra neoprene in its place, providing a smoother aesthetic and a more insulating finish that makes perfect for the colder months.
High-quality cow suede and premium leather build the rest of the uppers, while reflective piping weaves its way throughout so you’ll always stay visible even when the lights go down. As per every previous 500 release, the bulky pair feature shock-absorbing adiPRENE+ technology underfoot, keeping you comfortably cushioned when on the move.
4. YEEZY Boost 700 v2 ‘Inertia’
Touching down at number 4, we’ve gone for one of our favourite YEEZY Boost 700 v2 releases ever, the ‘Inertia’.
Easily one of our all-time favourite 700 v2 palettes, the ‘Inertia’ is a near carbon copy of its 700 v1 predecessor. The same tonal bluish-grey hues sweep across the pair’s heavily layered uppers, with hits of hi-vis orange cropping up on the midsole divots for a stark contrast. The only slight deviation with this v2 edition is the model’s 3M reflective sidewall panelling – a nice little touch to keep your YEEZYs in focus no matter the time of day.
The ‘Inertia’ doesn’t just look good, it’s exceptionally comfortable too. adidas’ Boost technology sits in the midsole, compressing under impact to serve you responsive cushioning with every step.
3. YEEZY 500 ‘Soft Vision’
We all know Kanye’s a huge fan of muted colourways, but for the YEEZY 500 ‘Soft Vision’, the rap icon goes for something a little more vibrant; that’s why it’s in at number 3.
Boasting the same breathable mesh, supple cow suede, and premium leather as the previous YEEZY 500 releases, what separates it from the likes of the ‘Bone White’ and ‘Salt’ iterations is the more upbeat lavender hue that sweeps across the silhouette.
What may be considered a more female-focused 500, the pale hue encompasses the whole of the uppers as well as painting the adiPRENE+ infused midsole too. The only contrast on the pink pair arrives on the gum outsole which only aids in elevating the vibrancy of the uppers further.
2. YEEZY Boost 350 v2 ‘Citrin’ Reflective
For those who prefer something a little more attention-grabbing, then the YEEZY Boost 350 v2 ‘Citrin’ Reflective here at number 2 is for you.
While it may look pretty similar to its non-reflective sibling, this iteration embodies Kanye’s outlandish spirit with interwoven 3M detailing throughout. During the daytime, it’s business as usual with the light beige Primeknit uppers not looking anything out of the ordinary, but when it’s when the lights go down that the spectacle starts. The speckled sock-like uppers glisten in the darkness to ensure your shoes are the talking point of any conversation.
1. YEEZY Boost 380 ‘Alien’
After plenty of deliberation and playing every YEEZY from this season over and over in our heads, we’ve decided there can only be one contender for the number 1 spot, the YEEZY Boost 380 ‘Alien’.
It’s not often we’re treated to a fresh new model, but Kanye and adidas’ latest effort has certainly gone down a treat. What began life circling the internet rumoured to be a 350 v3, the all-new 380 series is unquestionably the next evolutionary leap in the lineage.
Up top, the ‘Alien’ sports crisp white and grey camouflage uppers, with a bootie-style design rising slightly higher on the ankle than any previous 350 release. But it’s underfoot is where the design really starts to differ.
The streamlined pair sports a bulky Boost infused midsole that lifts you to new heights with its platform design. The model’s ribbed rubber outsole rises from the bottom, wrapping around the entirety of the Boost midsole for a seamlessly clean finish. The ‘Alien’ is bound to be the first of a whole host of YEEZY Boost 380 colourways and we can’t wait to see what else Kanye and adidas have got cooking up for us!
