Nike have been upping the ante once again in an attempt to own the Halloween scene with the release of the Air Force 1 “Skeleton Black”. Alongside the release of their ‘Day of the Dead’ pack, featuring Halloween themed designs for the Air Force 1, Air Max 95 and Cortez, they are also dropping a revised edition of last year’s Air Force 1 “Skeleton”.
Air Force 1 “Skeleton” 2018
The Air Force 1 “Skeleton” of Halloween 2018 came masked in its own Halloween costume. With an all-white leather upper covered in a black skeleton footbone print; a skeleton print on the tongue and a glow-in-the-dark outsole completed the look.
This year Nike have inverted the colour scheme. Opting for an all-black leather construction with a white skeleton across both sides and wrapping the heel cup. Taking a peek inside the trainer also reveals that Nike have kept the skeletal graphic insole.
If you, like last year and every previous year before that, leave your Halloween costume to last minute and have to once again turn up to the party wearing a bin liner/white paint skeleton, copping these trainers could be the perfect addition to your costume. The new dark look from Nike is a head turner, which is sure to attract attention away from your ghastly last-minute costume idea.
Inverted colourway for 2019
The artwork for the design has been taken up a notch, too. The airbrushed print has a much more stylised, wispier feel than last years. The colouring for the skeleton hasn’t just been inverted either, it has been given a blue tinge, adding some extra depth. The green, glow-in-the-dark finish on the outsole add to the X-Ray feel and give the colourway an extra dimension when the lights go down switching from a black and white colourway by day to a black and green by night; keeping in touch with the true spirit of Halloween.
The Nike Air Force 1 “Black Skeleton” drop on October 25. Keep it Laced for more sneaker news, online trainers release dates and more.
